Challenges represent both difficulties and opportunities. The financial consultancy sector, for network banks, will have to face complex scenarios in the new year. The world is in the throes of wars and Donald Trump will take office in the White House on January 20th. His choices in the financial and economic fields, and the consequent responses of China and the EU, will be decisive. In particular, I identify three great challenges.
1) Consulting must recover its proactive power. Too many clients, in recent years, have transferred a significant part of their assets to low-risk instruments, missing out on the earning opportunities offered by investment diversification and market growth.
2) We will need to focus on investments that combine private savings and the real economy. Let’s think about the indications contained in the document on European competitiveness prepared by Mario Draghi and commissioned by Ursula von der Leyen. Support is desirable, for example, for investments in private equity and private debt, solutions aimed at well-selected clients, for whom consultants will have to demonstrate the utmost of their competence.
3) In 2025 the market for consultants wishing to change networks will reignite. The networks will have to implement effective loyalty and retention policies to preserve and enhance their collaborators. Looking beyond 2025, I see some trends that will become increasingly important. We will see a progressive expansion of the range of products offered, which will extend to topics such as protection, support for businesses and entrepreneurs. At the same time, it will be crucial to know how to attract, train and retain new young talents, accompanying them on a growth path within organizations
